February might be the shortest month but it’s not too short to make progress on our overflowing book shelves! Here’s a roundup of what we read in the No Chapter Left Behind Book Club in February.

Each month, members choose books from their own shelves—no pressure, just progress—and have the option to follow a fun theme for extra motivation. The February themes are… Drum roll please…

💘 Red, White, or Pink Cover – Because who doesn’t love a good Valentine’s Day vibe? Whether it was a bold red, soft pink, or classic white, we judged those books by their covers (just a little).
📚 Shortest Month, Shortest Books – We leaned into the calendar and picked up stories under 200 pages. Quick reads, big wins.

Keep scrolling to see what our members read this month (and a few thoughts about the books!)—and maybe find your next book pick!

This author also wrote Jurassic Park (the movie is based on the books) and it’s quite a read!

Cute rom-com between an artist and a NASA engineer. Lots of discussion about fate versus choices.

The book was an adventure / memoir about the author (Tom Ryan) and his dog (Atticus) that did some fundraising for a couple of charities by hiking the White Mountains during the winter. The book got a little long in a couple of places, and introduced unexpected plot lines that I was less interested in (I thought that I signed up for a hiking journey, but there were times when that wasn’t the central thread of the story). Ultimately, the book came to a rewarding end, and I’m glad that this book club gave me a chance to finally read it!

Great read!

This was a beautiful romance that was more real than fantastical. It is the second in the Skyland series, but stands alone as its own story. It follows the development of the character Soledad that experiences a series of betrayals in her marriage and walks a path of rebuilding herself on her own terms while also finding love in the most unexpected places. I highly recommend this book!

If you want to change the world, start out by making your bed! Adapted from a graduation speech he gave. Great life advice!

I remember other classes being assigned this as class reading but I never was… came across it and figured it was about time I read it. I really enjoyed it!

Loved the twist; loved reading a book about writers

Loved it-great theory-new mantra

Liked the setting; it was inspired by real 18th century midwife, Martha Ballard

Funny; play on the white male

Enjoyed this; heartbreaking; thought Riley Keough addition to the book was beautiful

Beautiful writing

I loved this book! The characters were compelling and the adventure was fun. I appreciated the fantasy aspects of the story’s adventures at sea as well as the true themes of exploration, colonization, and privilege.

This book was absolutely amazing. It was extremely well written, and the story itself was very compelling and gripping. I couldn’t put it down. I appreciate the light it brings to more than one unsung hero and the impact of World War II in Italy, an area that is not spoken about enough when it comes to WWII history.

Wow! What a variety of books this month! I can’t wait to see what everyone is reading in March…

Be sure to check back next month to see what we’ve read in March—or better yet, join the No Chapter Left Behind Book Club and be part of the fun!

Pick a book, follow the themes (or not!), and enjoy the journey with fellow book lovers. Remember – every finished book is a win!
